This site is designed to be a Resource Hub regarding false allegations.
False allegations is a far-reaching topic which encompasses many sub-topics, including (but not limited to):
- Wrongful convictions
- False memory and false satanic ritual abuse claims
- False claims of celebrity abuse ‘scandals’
- Police trawling and other methods likely to cause false claims
- False claims as a result of mental illness, or motivated by revenge or in cases such as family divorce cases
- Inaccurate identification or use of forensic ‘evidence’
- Politically motivated witch-hunts
The discussion of false allegations is not designed to diminish or deny the existence of real instances of abuse or the genuine suffering of victims. Rather, we take the view that any false allegations will only lessen the validity of genuine claims, as well as ruining innocent lives and wasting police resources.
There are many groups around the world seeking to support those falsely accused and their families, as well as innocence projects working hard to overturn wrongful convictions. Other groups are working to change the legal system to prevent injustices. We aim here to collect information about these various topics and groups, as a sort of index to assist people to seek help and support.
There are excellent books and academic papers written on the subject of false allegations, and we aim over time to provide a reading list for those seeking to inform themselves on this topic.
Please feel free to contact us if you feel there is anything in error, or information which should be included on this site.
